What is the safe margin on a KDP book cover?
The safe margin is the area inside the trim line where important content (text, logos, barcodes) should be placed. For paperbacks, keep important content at least 0.25" inside the trim line. For hardcovers, the safe margin is 0.635" from the book edge.

- Paperback safe margin: 0.25" inside trim on all edges

- The bleed area (outside the trim) will be cut off — never place important content there
- The spine area has its own margin: 0.0625" from each spine edge
